Psychotherapy can help uncover unconscious feelings and beliefs that you have about yourself which formed after going through a traumatic event(s). A traumatic event is an intensely upsetting experience that can overwhelm your ability to cope which then can cause you to form negative feelings and beliefs about yourself, others, and your sense of safety in the world. These feelings and beliefs can affect all areas of your life and leave you feeling uncertain about your future. This can then change the way your brain works and can cause issues like depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress.

I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, and PTSD. My career has centered on assisting trauma survivors, such as those affected by sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and narcissistic abuse. I believe in guiding you to recognize that you “are not broken” from the trauma, and I help you to see your strengths and wholeness along your journey of healing. In therapy sessions with me, you can expect an empathic approach that may include humor and elements of spirituality.

I became interested in trauma while I helped to raise three boys in foster care. I graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a BA in cognitive science and from Argosy University with a master’s degree in mental health counseling. I currently treat adults and teens. I am committed to providing therapy that is mutually respectful, safe, supportive, and non-judgmental where you can talk openly and honestly about your challenges.
